Why Dalston? Why not Brinklane?

Myself, i live in East London for the past 9 years and i've seen all the changing, in the beginning when i moved here, i used to live in Bricklane

Back then, it was cool, very underground because the accommodations were very cheap and for the students (specially fashion/music student) or people came from other countries were affordable, i remember i paid £200 a month for a room and i live in in the middle of Bricklane.

Sunday Market in Bricklane is like a fashion show for us, watch the show and walking the run way in the same time, the market was mainly selling bikes, vegetables and building equipments, so it wasn't anything excited about the market but the people who is going to the market.

Now, Bricklane became more and more well known, nowaday is one of the sightseeing attractions, in the last couple of years i live above spitalfields Market, every single sunday as soon as i opened my door, i'd see people holding the map and look for Bricklane, i even came up to them few time and asked if they were looking for Bricklane and i certainly knew they were going to say yes.

For me, Bricklane is not like the Bricklane that i knew from the beginning anymore, now is like very hippies and touristy. So where is the next step for the people who used to live around there? Just go a bit further. Go Dalston!

Dalston / London Fields / Victoria Park / Stock Newington are kinda new area for those people who a bit fed up of the Bricklane  area,  I now moved to Kingsland Road, i have my nice neighbours who love talking about the past of East London, and when we talk, we'd talk for ages.

The vibe in this area is incredible, up coming bars also every week or every other week, is full of excitements place to live, a lot of nice private events, gigs and exhibitions, bars are in every single corners and cafes are everywhere in the area, the crowd surely different than the one in Bricklane, at least they are not holding the map, so you will feel like you are a one of our local people and very into the East London scene.

I love vintage, i walk everyday during fashion week in Paris, and i discovered a lot of very nice vintage shop, if you like vintage, there are few shop i highly recommend you

1) Freep 'S' Star

$
For sure you will find something nice in there, they have 2 shops in the same area, i bought 8 top/dress/pants for 8 euro! Such a bargain and i have got a lot of compliment with that! Beware that you do have to wash it after you bought it, i bought an amazing top but it was a bit stink, i wanted to throw it away but i love the top so much so i washed it, and soaked the top with softener over night.

Nice selection, if you have less time or you can't be bother to search nice stuff, you better come here instead, whatever you take it out with your hand, you will hesitate rather you buy it or leave it, price is not so cheap but you do find a very good stuff, not just good, it is very good!

3) Vintage Desire

Vintage Desire Probably is my top favorite vintage shops in Paris, i always bought really nice stuff there, and everytime i go back to Paris, Vintage Desire is always be my first shop to visit. Price is very reasonable, no hassle looking for good stuff

4) FRIP ' IRIUM

FRIP' IRIUM is a very clean and tidy vintage shop, you wont get broken or missing button stuff that easily, nice stuff and very retro, they have a lot of nice dresses and jackets. I bought a trench coat from there a while ago and this time i bought another 2 jackets!

5) Noir Kennedy

You will find so many interesting stuff in Noir Kennedy, second hand/vintage/rock/punk  and (Cheap Monday)

Very nice gent clothes selections, also Noir Kennedy reminds me a lot of London, they use London phone booth for the fitting room, all the stuff they have reminds me of Camden (London), also they are selling Cheap Monday jeans so make the shop more interesting, they have 2 shops located on the same street

6) The King of Frip

I can't say this is a very vintage shop, for me is more or less like a secondhand shop, i do found nice clothes there everytime i visited, price rise is very good, you will get a lot of stuff for less than 10 euro, during fashion week, i saw a lot of models went to this shop and for me is like watching a fashion show, they try on and walk around the shop, nice hats they have, mostly for 5 euro.
